Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP)
Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a tropical rain forest which lies in south-western Uganda shared by Kanungu, Kabale and Kisoro districts. This park is about 530 kms from Kampala and is 331Km2 in size. The park is home to three quarters of the World’s remaining Mountain Gorillas. It is also a refugee to other animals like the elephants, chimpanzees, some monkeys and several birds. Bwindi can be accessed from Kampala via Mbarara (6-8 hours), from Kabale to the South (2 hours) or from Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya) via Ishasha sector (4 hours). There is a public bus that leaves Kampala for Butogota (17kms north of Buhoma) daily at 0630 hours. There are several accommodation facilities for both up market and budget visitors.
