Semliki Wildlife Reserve Uganda
SEMLIKI WILDLIFE RESERVE:
Semliki is set in over 500 square kilometers of wildlife reserve in Uganda's Western Rift Valley, and has been declared as one of the most important conservation areas in the world by the World Conservation Union because of its biodiversity and extraordinary number of endemic species. Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve (formerly Toro Game Reserve), is Uganda’s first protected area. It is one of the best places to see the Shoebill.
The Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve (SVWR) 548 sq km is savanna grassland, however there is increasing area of regenerating thicket woodland and woodland savannah. One of the major features of the reserve is the Wasa River, which passes north through the length of the reserve to empty into Lake Albert.
Chimpanzees were discovered in the reserve in 1993. About 30-40 leopards live in the reserve, therefore there’s a high probability to see these animals during the night game drives, and it’s not higher anywhere in Uganda than here. Other mammals that could be seen are lion, leopard, buffalo, numerous antelope species, warthog and well over 400 species of birds

Semliki Safari Lodge:
Semliki Safari lodge is a luxury lodge capable of hosting 16 guests in custom-made safari tents. Each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilets, running water and hot showers. The lodge was designed in partnership with its natural surroundings.
The swimming pool has its own thatch-roofed building, complete with a lounge area and pool table.
